Are you a graham cracker junkie?

Happy 2nd anniversary to my blog, KIS (Keep It Sweet)!
Thanks to all my friends and family for their on going support. It has been so great to continue on this sweet journey the last year by adding fav foods that I am trying out for my lil boy & sharing with my Mommy circle of friends in addition to the sweet treats that I love to bake too.

The greatest endorsement!

Happy eater :)

Have you answered the question yet? If you said that watch out I am about to help your habit.

I saw this recipe in one of my todder cook books - The Petit Appetit by Lisa Barnes and knew I just had to try it. I did make some modifications that I think make it a lil more my style.

Ingredients:

1 c. organic whole wheat flour

1 c. unbleached all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 c. unsalted butter

1/2 c. honey

1/4 c. organice milk, plus 1 tbsp extra for brushing

(my adds) 1 tsp vanilla & 1 tbsp cinnamon (graham crackers without cinnamon is a crime)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine flours and baking powder in a med bowl. Cut in butter until it looks like cornmeal. Mix in honey; dough will be lumpy. Mix in the milk until stiff dough comes together.

Roll out dough on a well floured surface to 1/4 inch thicknees. Cut into rectangles or use a cookie cutters to make favorite shapes (maybe numbers or holiday shape like hearts for Mother's Day). Prick the cracker with fork and brush with millk.

Bake crackers on ungreased cookie sheets for 12-15 min (I baked them for 12) or until golden brown. Remove pan and let cool for a few min. Transfer to a rack and let cool completely.

I made this fun dip that my girlfriend turned me onto for a sweet pairing - http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/05/23/want-to-eat-an-entire-bowl-of-cookie-dough/

Enjoy!!!
