November does hold a very special place in my heart now since my son's birthday is this month. I cannot express the utter miracle that milestone was. Our son is truly the sunshine in our lives. He celebrated his 3rd bday recently. He continues to amaze, teach and bring us so much love everyday!
Yes, we have plenty to be thankful for not just because Thanksgiving is coming up but for so many amazing things in our lives. In our house we started a new tradition of a 'thankful tree'. Start with a manzanita branch (I got mine from Deep Roots). The leaves that you hang on it can be cut out pretty paper, hole punched and strung up with a little ribbon. For each day of the month we think & discuss something we are thankful for and write it on the leaf. My son has come up with some amazing ones so for. The tree is getting very full now and we go back and read previous days leaves, good reminders everyday.
FOOD - yes, let's not forget that he upcoming holiday and for many the holidays since Hanukkah comes just the day before Thanksgiving is about family, friends and some tasty food. More to come on the upcoming feast next week.
In the meantime, I tried a new recipe that my friend highly recommended, thx Mer. She gave me a few new chicken recipes because good grief you need a new one from time to time. Although I have been eating vegan lately I had to taste it before giving it to the boys. Wow, this one is a keeper - http://www.dinneralovestory.com/lemon-pepper-chicken/
it reminded me of tandoori chicken but even better since I can grill it in my own back yard (minus the tandoori oven).
Now, the real question is how thankful are you that I shared all of this with you?
