December Goodies

 What holiday season would complete without some sweet treats and of course friends and fam to share them with.
In grand tradition I did make a few cookies, only because I made the dough ahead of time and kept in the freezer. I like to do with my signature cookie - crispy oat - but this year a found a few new ones from Bon Appetit that were perfect too. This, a chocolate pistachio sable was the cookie of the day for day 25 which was a great add for our xmas cookie plate.  Oh and apparently a fav at a recent cookie exchange, thx ladies!

First my son discovered the crumbs on Santa's plate of cookies and note he left. Then he found a telescope, yes for our rocket man. He did find his way of course to goodies in his stocking too. We did a lil moon viewing pre bfast.  Then I served up a lil bfast- baked french toast a frittata. Thx to my dear friend Shannon for sharing this one. Whoa - its like having bread pudding for bfast with this amazing crumble top (which I am a sucker for)

 After bfast we moved onto all the rest of the gifts. We went with a focus this year - 4 gifts - want, need, wear & read. We have found that since his birthday is near the holidays, we do not want the major gift overload (well at least those that we can control...he still has a whole ottoman filled with bday gifts that will last the next 12 months) and the holiday is not really about gifts...so here was a nice way to do it. My son is truly blessed! As are we too!
