Don't get Passover'ed

Passover is truly one of my favorite Jewish holidays. We celebrate
our freedom with a great tradition of a sedar - family and friends gather for a ritual dinner to retell the story of how the Jews were freed from slavery.

Of course we have some traditional foods such as matzo ball soup, brisket and springtime veggies. In addition, desserts are to be of the unleavened kind since during Passover ...For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread.
You should definitely try these lil treats...one of the best reasons to eat matzo...matzo roca
As Adam Levine says....'Sugar....yes pls!'

This year our son has practiced the four questions and is ready to find the afikomen - the dessert matzo. As he got well from yet another cold he worked on making book marks for the family to use to hold their place in the Haggadah - the story of Passover. Each bookmark has one of the symbols of Passover:
Roasted egg - new life offering
Charoset - a mix of nuts, apples, honey and wine that reminds us of the mortar that our ancestors used to build the pyramids.
Roasted shank bone - reminds us of the special lamb that wass brought to the temple on Passover as an offering to God.
Maror - Because the Israelites were slaves in Egypt we eat bitter herbs to remind us of the harshness of servitude. Horseradish – either the root or a prepared paste – is most often used.
Karpas- a green veggie, such as parsley that reminds that Passover occurs in the spring, when new life brings a feeling of hope.
Chazaret -  bitter herbs to remind us of the bitterness of slavery in Egypt.

Happy Passover to you & yours.
Enjoy!
