I love starting my day with a good breakfast. This usually means a gluten free oatmeal that I love with berries. I have this one almost everyday but I am in the middle of a purification program so I am changing things up right now. I've tried this new naturally gluten free grain called buckwheat. It is actually a seed that is not related to wheat at all...termed a psuedo cereal. I love making it as a slow cooked porridge.
Ingredients:
1 c. raw buckwheat groats (I like Bob's Red Mill)
3 c. water
1 tsp cinnamon
Place buckwheat and water in a 1 qt. sauce pan
Heat on low for 45 min or until a porridge like consistency
Makes ~ 4 servings
Mix in your favorite fruit, I love it with mixed berries.
Enjoy!
