Cookies and cream dream

I hope you all had a great Father's day! In our house we celebrated the man I love, who is the best Dad and we are truly lucky to call him that. He shows us everyday what it is to be patient, wise, kind, firm but fair and unconditionally loving above all.
What holiday isn't more fun with a theme so this year we went with Dad, you rock! Yes, our son thought that was awesome. So cool rock shirts to wear, Dad rock on Pandora (all day). Let's not forget the good food, of course a bbq complete with tri tip. And dessert - a new version of rice krispie treats with Oreo cookies.
I saw a similar treat when we were away for spring break out in the desert so I thought I should try it myself.

Cookies and cream rice krispie treats
Ingredients:
1/4 c. unsalted butter
16oz bag of marshmallows
5 1/2 c. rice krispie cereal
1 package Oreo cookies, crushed (our son had a great time with all the Oreos in a Ziploc bag and hitting it with a mallet)

Melt the butter and marshmallows together on medium heat in a large pot.
Remove from heat and add in cereal and crushed cookies.
Stir, stir all together.
Press mixture into a 9x13 pan that has been sprayed with baking spray.
I wanted mine to be rather thick so I could add a popsicle stick to the treat.
Let it firm up for about 30 min then cut into squares or as I did into rectangles and ad a popsicle stick. And then wait to see what Pop doesn't love these.
Enjoy!
