With back to back weeks of beach camp, endless beach days and fun at the pool time to take care of our kid's skin for overall protection. Here are some of my favs:
Apple cider vinegar - Heal your sunburn overnight in just 2 steps: First, wet the washcloth with cold water, then splash on a little apple cider vinegar to the cloth. Dab the wet cloth onto your sunburn, soaking the skin. You should notice instant relief from any stinging!Fresh aloe vera (I got a big piece from Whole Foods) - aids the skin in healing from sunburns and mild burns. In addition, aloe vera oil can moisturize the skin, and helps you avoid the peeling normally associated with sun damage. I keep the fresh aloe in the fridge, cut an one inch piece and split it open, run on sunburn area. Blue Lizard - another good Zinc oxide formula specifically for kids. Very water resistant. Dermatologist recommended. UVA/UVB protection. Bottle turns blue in UV light.
Similasan redness and itchy eye relief drops - helps when your eyes have soaked up too much sun, sand or chlorine. Keep in the fridge for added cooling relief.
What are your go tos for protection and relief?
Enjoy...the last little bits of summer!
