Last weekend was jam packed with a day trip to the amazing Riley's Apple Farm and birthday party hopping on Sunday, but I wouldn't trade it for the world!
I love a good family outing to this apple farm was just that. Its a bit of a drive, less than 2 hrs out to Oak Glen from the south bay. Once we got there this time of year we could pick apples, pears, strawberries and pumpkins. We did check ahead of time to make sure there would be apples to pick. After we picked out some gems in all those categories we enjoyed a bbq lunch- chicken, tri tip and homemade sides such as corn bread and a little music show too. After lunch we made apple cider which was a little pricey for 1/2 gal but what an experience. Watching our son pick out the apples to helping press out and finally pour out the finished cider was priceless. We also enjoyed the corral of farm animals. And our son got a funny trick when one of the goats sneezed on him.
I highly recommend a trip out to this farm and adding this one to our family traditions. Next up a pumpkin patch visit.
